THE SPIRITUAL PREDECESSOR to Phantom Signal, The Boneyard Man, ran as a "live-to-air" radio presentation on stage in London, Ontario from 1998 through 2015. At its height, The Natural Broadcasting Company would perform two brand new episodes each month, many of which were recorded live.
Written by Jayson McDonald (who also performs the titular character) and featuring the talents of Jeff Culbert, Dean Harrison, Stephen Holowitz, Rachel Jones, Scott Pinkerton, Virginia Pratten, Jeff Werkmeister and a host of guest performers, The Boneyard Man chronicles the (mis)adventures of LePage Cranbrook, a wealthy dilettente who becomes a sinister vigilante in order to lay a fast, hard thumping on the criminal underworld. Only longtime friend and companion Margery Road and a few dozen other people know of Cranbrook's alter ego.
Over the course of some one hundred and twenty episodes, The Boneyard Man encountered his fair share of all the requisite thugs, goons, minions, kingpins, masterminds, lunatics, gorillas, Nazis, ghosts, frog people, aliens, robots, prestidigitators, science experiments, crooked politicians and zombies you'd expect from a white-knuckled action drama that's so exciting it trips all over itself in anticipation of its own nerve-jangliing conclusion.
We'll be cycling though Old No Eyes' many adventures on a regular basis here in the pages of Phantom Signal, so check back often! Get some popcorn, gather the family 'round the old inter-radio, and join The Natural Broadcasting Company for The Continuing Adventures of The Boneyard Man.
